MBCA Coaches Association Established 1968 |
| MBCA History and Mission |
||
|
In 1968, two
close friends and rival coaches, MBCA 'founding fathers' Howard Ferguson and Thomas O'Connell, had a
unique vision to bring together baseball coaches from across the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts. What started with just two men has
blossomed into an impressive organization of over 700 high school,
college, and youth league coaches. The MBCA's mission is to
promote
high school baseball and academics, to foster the highest level of
professionalism and ethics among its members, to
recognize excellence, and to maintain strong contacts with national,
state, and local
baseball organizations. |

| MBCA Activities |
||
| The MBCA
promotes a wide-range of activities and events over the course of the
year. Active coaches' milestones are recognized in our Victory Club; sectional
championship teams, MVP's and coaches are recognized at our annual Awards Brunch; Sectional All-Star Games are held for
deserving senior athletes; Service
Awards are given to dedicated assistant coaches and deserving
contributors to youth baseball; our annual Coaching Clinic promotes
professional development as top collegiate and professional coaches and
instuctors share their knowledge; and the capstone event of the year is
the annual Hall of Fame Induction
Ceremony, honoring those outstanding high school coaches who
have given their hearts and souls coaching young men. |
